ESSEX JUNCTION, Vt. (AP) — Gov. Phil Scott and the state Chamber of Commerce are working together to encourage economic cooperation with the aerospace industry in Quebec and elsewhere by promoting state businesses that provide parts and services for the aerospace and aviation industries.
Earlier this year, the Legislature passed a law exempting sales tax on aviation products.
Right now, there are about two dozen Vermont companies that can manufacture, repair and overhaul aviation equipment. The state is trying to attract more, said Chris Carrigan, the vice president for business development for the Vermont Chamber of Commerce.
“What we are really trying to do is transform Vermont into a supply chain hub,” Carrigan said.Discover More
